In 1991, former staff in the Athletic Department of Sterling Aviation High School started a JV Boys Basketball Tournament. After Coach Shaw's passing in 1992, the tournament was named in his honor, the Robert Lee Shaw Sr. Holiday Classic JV Boys Basketball Tournament.

In 2013, to further honor Coach Shaw's legacy, we presented the 8Before24 JV Boys Basketball Tournament and became a nonprofit organization.

This tournament will continue to build upon the foundation that was set back in 1991 by making a difference through athletics. JV Boys Basketball Teams can further develop their skills through competition with a chance to call themselves champions.
